Tyler C. Smith
Tyler was born and raised in Missoula, Montana and graduated from Sentinel High School in 2007. He then attended the University of Washington and competed as a sprinter for the track and field team. After his sophomore year Tyler transferred to the University of Montana where he continued his track career and graduated in 2011 with Honors.
Tyler then moved to Houston, Texas where he worked for a utility contracting company. During his time in Houston he managed a team of twenty employees and was actively involved in damaged utility claim investigations. This experience pushed Tyler to pursue a legal education.
In December of 2015 Tyler received his Juris Doctorate from Gonzaga University School of Law after graduating one semester early. During his time at Gonzaga Tyler studied abroad in Florence, Italy, was involved in the Business Law Club, and participated on the school’s intramural football and basketball teams.
In 2016 Tyler was admitted to practice law in Montana and the U.S. District Court for the district of Montana. Tyler was also elected to serve as Secretary for the Cascade County Bar Association in 2016, and continues to serve in that role.
Tyler has worked in a variety of practice areas, including personal injury defense, construction litigation, contracts, wills and trusts, real estate transactions, and several other areas of law.
In his free time Tyler enjoys spending time with his wife, Mackenzie, and their three dogs. He also enjoys exercising, playing sports, and cheering on his favorite sports teams including the Dallas Cowboys, Duke Blue Devil men’s basketball team, and the University of Washington football team.
